2024 ALL STAR MEETING

The Team's second annual All Star Meeting

In October 2024,  The Team hosted the second annual  virtual All Star Meeting. This national nonpartisan event for athletes, coaches and administrators is designed to celebrate and expand the unique impact that athletes can have on our campuses, communities and our future.

The event featured student athletes interviewing sports icons and influencers such as NCAA President Charlie Baker, WNBA All Star Natasha Cloud from the Phoenix Mercury, UCLA quarterback Chase Griffin, Maryland's Governor Wes Moore, and more!

More on The Team

The Team is a nonprofit organization dedicated to integrating civic engagement into college athletics. The Team develops award-winning programming that empowers student athletes, coaches, and administrators to become more engaged citizens and civic leaders. Our mission is to develop teammates, inspire leaders, and empower citizens. Working directly with athletes, coaches, and administrators, we provide nonpartisan resources to increase voter participation, make civic engagement joyful and easy, build stronger teams, and reinforce commitment to community.

Founded in 2023, The Team grew out of the 2020 All Vote No Play movement, a national campaign that led to the NCAA's historic decision in 2020 to designate Election Day as a day off from athletic activities and a day on for civics. This milestone affirmed the role student athletes can play in shaping civic life and laid the groundwork for our organization’s launch. Since then, we’ve worked with over 400 athletic departments and reached more than 250,000 individuals nationwide.

At The Team, we believe in the power of student athletes to drive civic change—not just as participants, but as changemakers. Our work is grounded in a three-pronged approach: Athletes as Leaders. Athletes as Organizers. Athletes as Influencers. Each of our core programs develops a different dimension of this civic identity, empowering athletes to lead, mobilize, and inspire within and beyond their communities.
