The Team's Second Bi-Annual All Star Meeting
In 2024, The Team hosted its second bi-annual All Star Meeting. a virtual event featuring high profile speakers in conversation with student athletes in The Team's network. The event spoke on the importance of athletes using their platform to make change in their community, especially with the 2024 Presidential Elections fast approaching. Each speaker brought their own unique perspective to the conversation, making for a dynamic night of powerful messages.
Our Fall 2024 All Star Meeting featured speakers such as NCAA President Charlie Baker, UCLA quarterback Chase Griffin, Maryland's Governor Wes Moore, Olympic rower Claire Collins, Seattle Storm’s Nneka Ogwumike, and HEADLINER WNBA All Star Natasha Cloud.
Student athletes hosted watch parties across the country, where The Team sent free pizza for athletes to gather with their teams or athletic departments to watch the event on a big screen. The watch parties spanned 34 states and 122 teams, and we sent 1,200+ pizzas to athletes across the country. We had a total of 7,000+ unique viewers on the call, showing the breadth of this event and the vast interest in hearing national leaders speak to their experiences as an athlete using their platform for good.

The Team is a nonprofit organization that creates award-winning programming focused on integrating nonpartisan civic engagement and voter participation into college athletics. Our mission is to develop teammates, inspire leaders, and empower citizens. Since 2020, our organization has directly engaged over 400 athletic departments and 250,000+ individuals, creating new pathways for student athletes to become more engaged citizens.
Last year, we launched a groundbreaking leadership program called the Engaged Athlete Fellowship in partnership with the Bridge Alliance Education Fund. This unique program empowers a diverse class of motivated student athletes to strengthen nonpartisan civic participation on their teams, their campuses, and their broader communities.
