High Impact Civic Events
Our high impact civic events focus on key moments and civic holidays to highlight voter registration and participation by using on-campus trusted messengers to maximize reach. In the months leading up to the election, our network ramped up efforts organizing
297 events including voter registration and voter education events, All Vote No Play/Get Out The Vote activities, and produced more than
500+ posts on social media to energize student athletes and their communities.
THE TEAM'S 2ND BI-ANNUAL ALL-STAR MEETING
Our Fall 2024 All Star Meeting featured speakers such as NCAA President Charlie Baker, Governor of Maryland Wes Moore, Seattle Storm Player Nneka Ogwumike, and Phoenix Mercury All Star Natasha Cloud in conversation with student athletes.
"BEYOND THE GAME" MEETING
“Beyond the Game” was a call to action for HBCU athletic departments. Partnering with the Social Change Fund United and NAACP LDF, we brought NBA legend Carmelo Anthony to inspire over 1,000 athletes and coaches from 19 HBCUs. We delivered nearly 200 pizzas to athletic departments and the energy was electric.
PURPLE TOUR EVENTS
Through collaboration with Civic Responsibility Project, The Team brought the high energy of college athletics to The Purple Tour. In 6 cities, Civic Captains and The Team staff joined community dance parties to bring more voters out to the polls. In Tempe, Arizona State’s mascot, Sparky, was a welcome presence. With more momentum and 2024 experience, The Team’s network can ensure athletics presence at many more Purple Tour stops.
ALL VOTE NO PLAY DAY 2025
The week of November 4th, more than 1,000 student-athletes across the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) made history together by marching to the polls, raising their voices, and taking a moment to “PAUSE” for purpose.
Stanford’s Democracy Day “All Vote No Play” rally brought the campus together to hear from Anne Wicks of the Bush Library, a three-time national champion player and coach from Stanford Women’s Volleyball, to celebrate civic engagement and teamwork.

Jasmine’s event provided voter registration status information and how to check registration. Jasmine provided voter education information through a fun interactive true or false game

Ayden hosted a pizza party to get Columbia athletes voter-ready ahead of the November 4th elections. Ayden educated folks on ballot measures, candidates, and checking voter registration.

The purpose of Avaughn’s event was to make voter registration quick, accessible, and encouraging for Mississippi College students during the lunch hour, helping more students get prepared to participate in upcoming elections.

NORFOLK STATE UNIVERSITY
Lexa Hunter put on a voter engagement event during Norfolk State’s homecoming football game. The high traffic gathering coined “The Fan Zone” featured a game called Spartans Vote where participants completed civic tasks for spirit merch.
