ABOUT THIS PROJECT

My year long project consists of expanding the breadth of California's 2019 Student Civic And Voter Empowerment Act (AB 963) to include the University of California campuses. As a UCLA student-athlete, it’s important to me that my peers and I have the opportunities to participate in civic engagement programming, and the expansion of AB 963 would ensure this!

ANIKA'S WHY

Civic engagement has been a passion of mine since childhood, and it continues to be the driving force behind my work! Having the opportunity to be an Engaged Athlete Fellow has provided me with the resources and information that I need in order to boost civic engagement at UCLA and beyond. Because of The Team, I am able to educate my peers about their civic duties, organize events on campus, and carry out my year-long project!
