Anika's project focuses on California's 2019 Student Civic and Voter Engagement Act (AB 963) and how to best expand its reach to all University of California (UC) campuses. As it stands, AB 963 requires that all California State University and California Community College campuses adhere to a specific set of civic engagement-oriented guidelines, while it only strongly recommends that UC campuses do the same. Her objectives are to amplify the positive effects of AB 963, and eventually integrate its components into the UC system. Anika has been contacting and meeting with her local representatives and her campus administration, and is continuing to look for ways to boost AB 963!
