ABOUT THIS PROJECT

Ava's project celebrates the diverse experiences of Northwestern student-athletes through a collaborative mural. It begins at the ReFrame event, where participants respond to prompts that inspire the mural’s design. Athletes then contribute artwork using various materials during open hours, each piece paired with a personal explanation. The finished mural will be displayed in the athletic facility, showcasing civic engagement and identity through visual art.

AVA'S WHY

I am an Engaged Athlete Fellow because I am passionate about both youth civic engagement and athletics. The EAF gives me the wonderful opportunity to use these two interests in tandem, all while participating in simultaneous learning and educating with my fellow cohort members. Being an Engaged Athlete Fellow means using and sharing my knowledge and passions with other fellows, using athletics as a medium for civic engagement and change, and working together in order to further our collective goals.
