Named "Together We Shine Floor Hockey Game", the event was be a floor hockey event which gave children facing chronic illnesses and disabilities the opportunity to learn and play hockey with members of the Stonehill Hockey Team. Cam incorporated Stonehill student-athletes as hosts--this initiative will had a plethora of events and entertainment that aimed to establish positive physical and emotional well-being for these children. This event gave these children the opportunity to try a sport that is not always offered at many special needs sports programs, and to interact with college hockey players to create great bonds and fun memories.
CAM'S WHY
Hockey has always been a central part of my life, but the most meaningful experiences I’ve had have not come from the rink itself, but from the opportunities hockey has provided me to make a positive impact on the lives of others. The Engaged Athlete Fellowship provides me with the resources and the opportunities to continue my mission in using my platform to inspire change in people's lives through service. Being an agent of change by using my platform as an athlete is so important to me because in doing so, I have gained so much perspective on life.
