ABOUT THIS PROJECT

My project would focus on addressing youth truancy and absenteeism in Washington, D.C. by using mentorship, basketball, and life-skills absenteeism to create a positive and supportive environment. The goal is to connect with students, helping them build discipline, confidence, and motivation through weekly mentorship and community engagement sessions. My project would help students feel supported and encouraged them during a crucial time in their development as young people.

CAM'S WHY

As a student-athlete having impact beyond basketball and grow as a leader in my community is very important to me. Being an Engaged Athlete Fellow means learning how to make change and use sport as a tool to do meaningful things. I want to be part of a group that challenges me to think bigger about the influence athletes can have both on and off the court.
