ABOUT THIS PROJECT

Overall my goal was to increase awareness of long-term financial strategies and how female student-athletes can start implementing them now, while also exposing them to various career paths in the financial industry. My project consisted of several components to enhance female student-athletes' understanding of financial education, beginning with a series of Zoom calls featuring former female athletes now working in as financial advisors. The series concluded with a mentorship event at UNC for athletes eager to create connections with trailblazing women in finance. 

GRACIE'S WHY

I am participating in the fellowship to empower female student-athletes by providing financial education and career development opportunities beyond sports. Being an Engaged Athlete Fellow means using my platform to create meaningful connections and resources that support athletes in their personal and professional growth. This opportunity allows me to give back to my community while developing leadership skills that will impact my future career.
