ABOUT THIS PROJECT
My project was a tennis coaching weekend clinic designed to introduce local youth in the urban Atlanta community to the sport while promoting physical fitness, teamwork, and discipline. Partnering with HBCU college athletes, the clinic aimed to foster mentorship and provided a positive outlet for young people to explore their potential. By making tennis accessible and engaging, this project built confidence, encouraged community involvement, and inspired the next generation to pursue their dreams, regardless of their background or circumstances.
JUMAI'S WHY
The team has given me the opportunity to do more than just play tennis—it has allowed me to go "beyond sport" and create a meaningful impact. Through this fellowship, I can use tennis as a platform to inspire, educate, and empower the next generation. It’s about showing that sports can be a bridge to personal growth, community engagement, and breaking down barriers, proving that we are capable of achieving anything we set our minds to.
