ABOUT THIS PROJECT
I led a week-long Learn to Swim program for about 15 children in partnership with Neighbor to Neighbor, a Raleigh nonprofit that supports youth and families, teaching basic swim and water safety skills. By keeping the program free and intentionally small, I focused on building trust with families and helping each child gain confidence in the water.
KATHERINE'S WHY
My why for joining this fellowship comes from recognizing how fortunate I am and feeling a responsibility to give back to the Raleigh community. I want to use my experience as a student-athlete to help create opportunities for young people, whether that means learning to swim, building confidence, or simply feeling seen and supported.
