ABOUT THIS PROJECT

My project, "Play It Forward: Games, Goals & Giving Back", is an end-of-year school bash for Howard University Middle School of Mathematics & Science students featuring sports-based activities, interactive stations, and swag bags filled with wellness and athletic items. It would provide students with opportunities to be active, build confidence, and connect with positive role models in their community. By promoting both physical and mental well-being, the event aims to inspire healthy habits and create a lasting, uplifting impact on the students and their families.

KENNEDY'S WHY

Participating in the fellowship is deeply personal, as an athlete that grew up in an environment where sports programs were underfunded and access to resources was limited. Becoming an Engaged Athlete Fellow represents an opportunity to change that narrative by giving back to the community that shaped them and creating opportunities they once lacked. It means using sport not just as competition, but as a vehicle for empowerment, equity, and long-term impact.
