ABOUT THIS PROJECT

SWAG provides water safety education and swim competency support for UC Davis professors, students, faculty, and staff who may not have had access to formal swim instruction. By partnering with student-athletes, the program uses shared skills and mentorship to build confidence, awareness, and lifesaving knowledge in the water. Its impact extends beyond safety by strengthening community connection and well-being across the UC Davis campus.

LILLIE'S WHY

My why for participating in this fellowship comes from seeing how much stronger teams become when people feel connected and supported beyond just performance. Through SWAG and team fellowship, I want to intentionally invest in relationships and service that reflect who I am off the pool deck, not just as an athlete. Being an Engaged Athlete Fellow means showing up consistently for my teammates and community in a way that feels genuine and meaningful to me.
