ABOUT THIS PROJECT

My project aimed to increase voter turnout at UVA by creating nonpartisan content that simplified the voting process. I worked with student athletes and campus groups to share clear information, especially on navigating home vs. college residency rules; I also provided accessible overviews of candidates to help students feel informed. By breaking down key steps and resources, I made it easier for students to register, understand their options, and vote with confidence.



RIA'S WHY

I’m participating in the fellowship to use my platform as a student athlete to drive awareness around civic engagement and help my peers feel more informed and empowered to vote. Being an Engaged Athlete Fellow means using my voice beyond the field to create meaningful conversations that affect our communities. It’s a way to lead with purpose and represent something larger than myself.
