ABOUT THIS PROJECT

My “why” for participating in this fellowship comes from how much I have grown as a leader through my experiences in athletics, both on and off the court. Being an Engaged Athlete Fellow means using that growth to motivate other student-athletes to step into leadership roles and become more involved in their communities. It also represents an opportunity for me to give back to the citizens of New Orleans, a city that has supported and shaped my collegiate journey.

SABRINA'S WHY

My project partners with The 18th Ward, a nonprofit that builds community through high-quality, affordable sports and workforce development programming for youth and families across New Orleans. I will host a free volleyball clinic for The 18th Ward volleyball team and create a peer mentorship program connecting Tulane student-athletes with The 18th Ward athletes. This project will provide skill development, mentorship, and positive role models while strengthening the connection between Tulane athletics and the New Orleans community.
