ABOUT THIS PROJECT

My project was an academic/athletic enrichment program for middle school students from Durham Public Schools. The program was led by Duke student athletes, with the objective of developing strong mentor student relationships between the athletes and middle schoolers. We motivated these students to find what they're passionate about in the classroom or on the field, and to pursue those goals.

SEBI'S WHY

It means so much to be an Engaged Athlete Fellow because it gives me the opportunity to help me and my teammates become more involved in the community. It reminds me of how powerful our platform is, and that we have a duty to use that to empower other athletes and members of our university to serve and advocate for underserved members of our communities.
