Donate to Support Community Hoops!
Tufts University Women's Basketball junior Mikayla Paquette was chosen for The Team's Engaged Athlete Fellowship, a program helping over two dozen motivated college athletes to design and execute a year long civic engagement project. For her project, Mikayla has planned a two part initiative to celebrate and build community within the Medford/Somerville neighborhoods.
In part one of Mikayla's project, Tufts will host the “Community Hoops Camp” where local hoopers will get the chance to be mentored by Tufts basketball players and experience the state of the art facilities that Tufts has to offer. This will only be the beginning of an incredibly impactful relationship between Medford/Somerville youth and Tufts athletes!
For the second initiative set to kick off in April, Mikayla has partnered with Artists for Humanity to paint a vibrant outdoor court in the area, cementing the legacy of community in the neighborhoods surrounding Tufts campus.
Each of these colorful efforts come with costs to make them impactful and move young lives. Please consider making a tax-deductible donation to this meaningful initiative and help Mikayla's project come to life!
