Finance Forward is a community-based financial literacy and career exposure program led by Tobias Williams, a member of Duke Track and Field. The project connects Duke students and student athletes who are pursuing careers in finance with high school students in the Durham area through interactive workshops and a career panel. Participants will learn practical financial skills including budgeting, saving, credit basics, and introductory investing, while also gaining insight into finance-related career pathways. By creating direct mentorship and exposure opportunities, Finance Forward aims to reduce barriers that make finance feel inaccessible to students from underrepresented backgrounds. The program is designed to be replicable and sustainable for future Duke students.
