What does it mean to be a Civic Ambassador with The Team?
Execute a civic engagement project on your campus
Design, plan, and execute a civic engagement project of your choosing for the 2025-2026 school year. This project could range from a sports camp for youth, voter registration drives, volunteering in your local community- the possibilities are endless!
Receive 1-1 support from The Team's network
Looking to execute a civic engagement project on your campus but need advice? Get paired up with a student who has been through one of The Team's programs before who can help you brainstorm and make real change on your campus.
Build your resume
It's important to think about your goals and aspirations beyond sports. At The Team, we firmly believe that you are more than just your sport and you have the capacity to make lasting positive change on your campus and beyond. The Team's programming will help you begin to build out your resume, from adding your role on LinkedIn and your resume, to receiving professional development opportunities throughout the year.
Lead an All Vote No Play Day event
As part of being an Ambassador for The Team, you are expected to plan and execute an All Vote No Play Day event on your campus. All Vote No Play is an annual legislation passed by the NCAA in 2020, where all teams choose a day off from practice and play to dedicate to civic engagement between Election Day and 2 weeks prior. Teams and athletic departments can use this day to vote, celebrate civics, and host events!
The Team will provide resources to help you plan your event on your campus.
